Class Instructor: Beth Parry
Class Description: Mindfulness is the process of bringing your thoughts to the present moment, on purpose, without judgement. To often the world goes by at such a high pace, that we spend much of our focus on what needs to be done. We spend the majority of our time in our minds, worrying about the future, stressing about the past, holding resentment or guilt. The mindfulness class teaches different stress reduction techniques including mindful meditation, while teaching you the principles of forgiveness, compassion, and acceptance, both for yourself and for those around you. Statistics state that 75-90% of all doctor visits could have been prevented with stress reduction techniques. Being a caregiver of a disabled child can bring on a lot of additional stress that can turn into health related complications in the future. Having the support of others who are going through the same stress, being able to take a few moments to focus on the present moment, and having the positive surrounding will give these caregivers a moment to recharge their battery.
Notes: No supplies needed. We do ask that you come alone and not with your child - as this class is structured for you to clear your mind and space. Class is available to take one time or multiple times as needed.
